Democracy and Class Struggle while we appreciate some of  the insights of David Harvey we find ourselves on The Utsa Patnaik and Prabhat Patnaik side of this debate and we hope to publish more of their views in future on our Political Economy Research Blog.

While we have found concepts like accumulation by dispossession very useful from David Harvey especially in relation to land his attempt to treat imperialism merely as a metaphor and substitute it for his theory of spatial fixes is social democratic revisionism gone mad - does he really want to become the Karl Kautsky of
the 21st Century ?

Concerning Capitalist China in the Global System
which David Harvey seems to profoundly misunderstand  study the work of Minqi Li a very useful foundation for Marxist Leninist Maoists - the Rise of China and the Demise of the Capitalist World Economy which would also repay study by Prabhat Patnaik

The historical strategic reserve of Capitalism China has been thrown into the battlefield for capitalism in the 21st Century not because capitalism is strong but because it is weak and if there is no understanding of this since 2008 then there is no understanding of Capitalist Imperialism in the 21st century.

If you want to know what the modern battle cry of  global capitalism is in 2017 watch Xi Jingping reset Global Capitalism for next 100 years elite confucian not proletarian communist style at the Belt and Road Opening Forum in Beijing.
